SHOOTPAUL.COM TO CLOSE DECEMBER 9, 2011

The idea was pretty simple: Build an environment for fun, it doesn’t matter who likes it, as long as we like it. Let’s dabble in experimental online usability and develop a place for fun, interactive mayhem.

With this mindset we set out to bring our vision to life on quite literally on a zero dollar budget. Everything you’ve seen through the live streaming cams was made possible through countless favors, saving every extra dollar, many hours of building, ideating and pushing our dedication to the creative process.

In the recent months, there are certain points of focus in our lives that have found their progression on the backburners. Simply put, it’s time for us to move on to our next project. We are certainly walking away from this project with a grand sense of accomplishment. Did we make money, no. Is that the reason we’re closing, no. Many people can’t see past the idea of money, which is a shame. From the beginning we’ve stood by our valued friendship, morals and the idea that ‘This site is for fun purposes only.’ No performance art, no masochistic agenda… fun. Did we have mass amounts of fun, yes.

Through this long process and development we’ve met a lot of new friends and for that we are grateful. For the users who put up with us daily and kept us company, we thank you. For the people that are genuinely disappointed in us for closing our doors, thank you most of all.

So let us all celebrate these last two weeks of Shoot Paul… spread mayhem and fury through the air in paintball form. Celebrate the fact that you… you were a part of this. Make Paul rage one last time. Shoot Houvenagle’s face until his mask is blanketed with paint. We are lowering our cost of paint, not as a final gift to you, but so you may experience ShootPaul.com the way it was meant to be experienced.

You are the result of over 4 billion years of evolutionary success… and for that, we thank you.

Your Humbled Master of Minions,
Paul & Houvenagle
