I've held off watching this for a long time now...and not for any sensible reasons. I didn't like the title of the movie or the DVD cover and it made me think of Steel Magnolias...which I know and knew is not the same movie, that's just how my mind works. Anyway...I finally watched it last night and its really really good. So if for whatever reason you haven't seen it yet, watch it.

had no idea you hadn't seen this. I would have forced it upon you years ago.
I'm sure you've offered it up before, but I passed due to dumb title and dumb cover (again, admittedly not the best of reasons).
I am unable to take it as watchable, for exactly the reasons you set forth.
And, they are damn fine reasons. Even a whiff of Julia Roberts is enough of a reason to not watch something.
