mdr's are great, but I think they lack mid range. I tend to like Sennheiser HD-280. But they can get to be a bit bulky. Grado's are great too... All depends on how you like them to fit. www.headphone.com for a ton of reviews and price matching. If you want, I'll go to Music For Pleasure with you, and you can try out a ton of them.
If you think you might end up with a pair of Grado's, make sure you go to Music For Pleasure and try them on your head first. A lot of people say that they are uncomfortable. I'm not one of them... But a lot of people are.

I use these every day and they are great. You can pick them up a bit cheaper if you search around.
Fucking Shit this link was hard to make.
Ha...thanks yo...and Bose offer a 30 day trial period...seems weird for something like earbuds...
Anyone else got anything to throw in the mix?
sony MDR-V150
every guy on my team and I have these.
cheap and sound good.
dude near me is pushing for the MDR-V700 (not cheap...but claims worth every penny)....
I've tested the bose noise cancelling and they were sweet. They are over $300 though. I think I've heard good things about the MDV-V150 too.
the MDR V150 are like $12. if you don't like them give them to a homeless guy. then buy something else.
reviews
those reviews say nothing about homeless dudes...
