On December 4th, The Tin Can Tavern (Downtown Location) will be home to 12 original and all-new images by Brandon "Major Brows" Voges. Accompanying the artwork will be food, music, elegant canned beers, and the premiere of the behind the scenes video, which chronicles the process from start to finish.

CHANTIX

I started taking Chantix Friday morning. For those of you who don't know what it is, its a prescription drug to help you quit smoking. And as you can probably imagine, a pill that fills the need for you to put poison into your body multiple times a day comes with a great deal of side effects.

So how is it going? I feel nauseous about 80% of the day. I feel very anxious and very agitated. I've dreamt my left hand was smashed in a trash compactor and finally severed. I've dreamt I've been on fire laying in a field. I'm confused easily when walking around my house...I don't know why I got up in the first place. But today...today is the first day in nearly 12 years that I don't have a pack of cigarettes or lighter in my pocket. Wish me luck...

FRIDAY

In case you missed the opening a while back...This Friday, November 20, Third Degree Glass Factory (5200 DELMAR BOULEVARD) will be featuring Brian Cummings' photography series, Bodies of Work at their Third Friday Open House (6PM-10PM). This marks the start of a month long installation of the series.

Swing by and make your own piece of glass art, listen to the folk and bluegrass stylings of City Folk and see some art. Cash bar will be available. This event is family friendly, so bring the kiddies if you wish.

Please note that the series will NOT be on view during the Rock and Roll Craft Show November 26-28.

SHARPIE BIKE FRAME TEST No. 1

So I'll be painting my friend Ms. J's bike this winter season and decided to do a few tests on a pipe to make sure what I want to do is going to be possible. Good news is yes...it is indeed possible. Bad news is its gonna be fucking rough. Time isn't the issue, I can crank through it no problem. Its the fact that the frame is going to be a bitch to constantly spin around to keep a line. I'll be covering the majority of the bike...I would have done more on the test piece, but my Sharpies were old and drying out, making it hard to stay motivated.

Now if she'd just give me her bike so I can get started...I'm hoping to nab it this weekend to strip it down, but...I'm not holding my breath.
