OH ITS FRIGHTFUL OUTSIDE

So this morning on my way to work, I only got stuck 3 times. Once on the way out of my garage in a three or so foot snow bank. Once on a giant ass hill (and to prove I'm not completely retarded and incompetent when it comes to driving, two other cars were stuck on the hill as well). And once on my way into the parking lot...which after all was said and done, I couldn't get into...so my car is grocery shopping right now at a nearby supermarket.

Yesterday, I was lucky enough to have the day off. So aside from a walk to the coffee shop and letting the dog run about in an abandoned lot...I stayed inside. Which was a nice change of pace. I turned my place into a coffee shop...a coffee shop minus the hippies. I drank hot tea and coffee all day long by a looping fire on the tv, had a mix of The Evens, Dresdon Dolls and other low toned music playing on the ol' iPod...and I read...read a lot. I read a 300+ page book cover to cover in a single day...a first for me (not literacy, but my attention span)...I'm proud of myself. I was reading David Sedaris' When You Are Engulfed in Flames...which yeah, I'd recommend it.

All in all...if you're in the STL area and don't have to leave the house today, I wouldn't.
