AND ANOTHER ALLEYCAT RACE IS BORN
...more to come later on, but as for now...keep Sunday, October 11 open.
CRANK, RAMBLE AND SOME BRISKET
ArtCrank proved to be the expected good times...good turn out, good artwork, sold a couple of prints...many thanks to those involved with putting on the show. We hung out until 11:30ish and then headed down to the Ramble. Ramble was fun. Mr. J may or may not have deuced and swam in the Art Hill fountain. A cop was kind enough to take time out of his busy night to make Mr. P dump out his beer and pass along some words of wisdom. And a couple of drunk college girls were cunning enough to outwit all of St. Louis' finest traffic controllers and drive their shitty Pontiac in the midst of thousands upon thousands of cyclists. Nearly funned out, we went to the South City Diner for some much needed grub and parted ways and headed home...but not before we could get yelled at by a gent down on his luck and looking to grope Miss K. Good times. Good times.
Getting to bed 6 or so the night before, didn't make for a productive Sunday... I watched Happiness, which if you haven't seen it, I recommend you do...cause its awesome, and not just because I have a man crush on Philip Seymour Hoffman. And about dinner time made my way over to A & D's for some good ol' home cooking and some Todd Show...good things.

ANOTHER REASON WHY RUNNING IS DUMB
The garage where I park in my building is kind of a blind pull out...You have to cross a sidewalk before getting up to the street...and there's a good amount of foot traffic every morning since everyone in my neighbor hood seems to have a dog or likes to do stupid shit like run.
I always half way worry about blindly picking off a dog that's too far out on its leash or maybe a random bum...but it never seems to make me be any more cautious...because hey, people can clearly see a fucking car...right? Well...talked to my neighbor on my way to work this morning and apparently he shares my slight anxiety or what have you. Though he actually picked off a runner with headphones on the other morning...knocked him down, the guy grabbed his car and shook his head in anger and ran off...

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT
National Night Out was last night...for those of you who don't know what NNO is (don't worry, I didn't before I moved to St. Louis), its an excuse for neighborhoods to have block parties...shut down the street, throw out some tables, drink and grill...good times. We rode to a couple of parties, none of which we knew anybody, or at least I didn't...and at the last stop we met the nicest people on earth. If you yourself desire a quest to track them down, they have set up residence in the CWE. They gave us (30+ riders) hotdogs, beer, fireworks and fudgesicles...all we could handle. And some lovely woman serenaded us shortly after arrival.
I headed home fairly early...I had a buddy watching my dog, and figured I should get her back at a somewhat decent hour since I was calling in a favor. So I'm sitting outside of his building, waiting for him to come down and soon enough a guy carrying a big ass tv walks up and falls...good night all around.

FAT DUCKS AND A NEW BIKE
This past weekend I went back to my parents house to hang out. Nice and relaxing...you forget how quite it can get at night...kinda creepy actually. We didn't do too terribly much, though we did go see The Hangover, which is a lot better than I expected...I just figured it'd be another Dude Where's Car, which it kind of is...but whatever, I laughed. Other than that it was a lot of cold kicking it around their massive yard, complete with 6 guineas +2 chicks, 4 or 5 chickens and 5 ducks...all domesticated...so much in fact, despite there being two good size ponds, the ducks refuse to swim and are too heavy to fly, so they just walk around the yard all day with the guineas...
Also while I was home, my mom unearthed some bonds I had received back when I graduated. So now I think I'll be buying a shiny new bike this week. Funny...I'm pretty sure relatives gave me bonds back yonder so I wouldn't buy stupid shit I don't need...I'd get older...and more responsible...well...that did not work. New bike!...maybe.
