Last night I got the outline finished on the piece on my back...super excited. Looks fantastic so far and I can only imagine its gonna get doper with color. So, as I was walking out of the shop. Mr. S. tells me to hold up, he wants to give me something...dude pulls a five foot framed painting of his down from the lobby wall and gives it to me. Now I've just got to find a place to hang it. F'n awesome.

LAST NIGHT AND NIGHTS TO COME

Last night Gogol Bordello was at The Pageant, it was the first time I'd seen them live...super good show. Quite a range of people there...honestly I expected it to be about half as crowded. I fell in love no less than nine times...girls with washboards dancing in white are a plus. A buddy of mine apparently saw them three or so years ago at the old Creepy Crawl, which I bet was way awesome in that small of a space. Afterwards I headed home with good intentions of calling it a night and going to bed...but when I was out walking my dog I magically ended up at ye ol' Tin Can and drank more unnecessary beers. Fun times.

Saturday night, a buddy's band, [STELLA MORA] is playing at the [FIREBIRD]...should be a good time...and I know how much you like good times.

WONDERMOUS FRIDAY

Been a good day so far, and I'm pretty sure it'll only get better. I took the day off, though I do have a quick meeting this afternoon...This morning I walked the dog for a bit and discovered STL has fantabulous weather today. So with my obvious discovery I hopped on my bike and rode to meet a friend for coffee. After people watching and chatting for a bit, I rode down to STL's new City Garden. Pretty cool space, interesting sculptures throughout (like the above)...if you've yet to make it down there, I would recommend you do so...good place to relax. Made my way around our empty city streets for a while, down to the arch to sit on the riverfront and then headed home to walk the dog for bit longer. Later this afternoon finally, finally going to fix the tandem..we've been waiting on a bit so we can get the f'n wheel on...So that's super awesome. And Sonic Youth is playing for free tonight...

WEEKEND

The All-Star Game weekend kicked off this past Friday...which to my delight has brought me great people watching. Saturday I couldn't resist riding my bike down near the stadium to witness the chaos. Which totally paid off, Taco Bell was giving out free tacos...and you know what I like about tacos. The short ride down there ended up to be part of a 9 hour ride/bar hopping/hotdog eating afternoon. Not gonna lie...I was pretty pleased with myself, on my bike all day...having fun...that is until last night when a buddy and I met up with a bunch of peeps riding across America. Yes I am jealous...whatever. Met some cool guys...Mr. C and A...keep on keepin' on...and stay out of the van.

On a completely separate note, Sonic Youth is playing for free at Live on the Levee this Friday, 7.17...7:30. Mark your calendars kids.

I WAS ON A BOAT

Key learnings and whatnot from a houseboat on Kentucky Lake...

A couple of speedos do not, despite popular belief, bring boat loads of women begging to tie up to you. Storms only make for better swimming and sliding. Half the people on our boat apparently cannot swim. Trash cans float until they fill with water. Suntan lotion does actually work...though you need to apply to all of your skin. Sea sickness is instantly cured with an ideal mixture of Stag, rum and margaritas. Gainers are achievable off of the top deck, though there is one person who definitely not pull one off. I can do zero pull ups with hands facing out. Apparently if you put a bunch of guys on a boat, shirtless and in short swimwear...every picture makes it look like a super gay outing.

Favorite quote..."Quick, steer us out of here." ...because apparently people really do listen to voices in their head.

And I might throw up shortly after posting this, because I am still rocking back and forth, despite being on still land.
